Kylie Jenner has a picture of herself, “brown skinned girl’ under fire but the star denies that she’s ever written those words.
The 23-year-old model posted an attractive snap on Instagram on Sunday with the controversial title, then edited the screenshots caught by Twitter user @staliminaj quickly and said, “brown eyed girl.”
Kylie’s initial caption went noticed. “We saw the original caption. Please show me where and how you are a ‘brown skinned girl’?? The audacity is repulsive,” said one critic.
“Love how no one is talking about how Kylie Jenner’s white behind had the nerve to put ‘brown skinned girl’ as her caption after years of using black people and stealing black culture. Trashhhhhh,” a Twitter user commented.
“Saw online someone photoshopped this photo I posted to change my caption ‘brown eyed girl’ to ‘brown skinned girl.’ I never said this,” she wrote on her Instagram story on Monday.
It was just an emoji in heart and star, she said, which she changed a few minutes later to a “brown eyed girl.”
The Kardashian-Jenner family has been accused of cultural appropriation in the past. Kendall Jenner – Kylie’s sister, was criticised for posing in Vogue magazine with an Afro. And sister Kim Kardashian was dragged for wearing braids on a Yeezy fashion show.
